We bought a Cabin!

We did it! We bought a cabin in the woods in Ely, Minnesota on Burntside Lake. If you follow us on Instagram you saw that we were up there last weekend exploring and enjoying the beautiful fall weather.

Jason and I have talked about doing something like this for awhile and could not pass up this opportunity. We will hopefully be posting it on VRBO within the month. This pandemic has definitely had us reassess a lot of different things and one of those things has been to get out of our comfort zone and try new things. And we could not be more excited!

While we were in Ely we went on some amazing hikes. We saw waterfalls at Kawishiwi Falls Trail. We even did a hike around Bass Lake that totally kicked our butts! There is so much to do and we can't wait to be up there in the summer on the water as well as some snowmobiling in the winter.

After a day of hiking we enjoyed some relaxation in our barrel sauna! How cool is that???!!!!

The scenery was absolutely amazing as the leaves were already changing colors. And every where you turned there seemed to be another lake - Jason was in heaven!!!

Ely is the cutest town and there are canoe outfitters everywhere as Ely is one of the Boundary Water Canoe Areas.

In the morning we had to stop at this adorable little drive thru for coffee and for dinner we could not resist a bratwurst at the Boathouse and the best onion rings EVER at the Stoney Ridge Cafe.
