Originally, I didn’t know whether or not I’d be home for Easter Sunday this year because of school! Now, I’ll be home for Easter Sunday and every single day after it and before it! This year, however, Kate’s birthday falls on Easter, so that means we’ll be doing a little more celebrating of Kate as well as the risen Jesus!!😂
Easter is one of my favorite holidays because of the simplicity and yet significance it holds. It’s one of, if not the most, significant event in the Bible and what has provided us to live even though we sin... so like it’s crazy! I love love love all the small and joyous activities my family participates in on Easter! We do Easter baskets, an Easter egg hunt, family dinner and church (usually a couple days before but same difference!) This year, even though it’s Kate’s birthday, she wants to continue to do our family Easter traditions! So let’s talk about Easter baskets!
To be honest, simplicity is the key! Some candy, maybe a gift card, little items like chapstick (Burt's Bees is my favorite) or earrings, all perfect Easter basket stuffers!! And this Burrito game looks so fun! An Easter basket is literally just a spring Christmas stocking! Honestly just compare what you put in a stocking and that’s basically what you should put in an Easter basket! But please NO TAMPONS! I will explain.
Last year my mother made a mistake on the Easter baskets! Now I’m giving her credit for trying something new and of course appreciating the fact that kate, emily and I even received something, but we were not exactly expecting what we found! My mom put a bunch of feminine products and beauty products into our baskets instead of her usual candy and gift card! Now don’t get me wrong, dry shampoo, beauty boxes and chapstick were very much appreciated! But imagine finding an Easter basket with tampons sticking out of it... I love you mom😂 hopefully that was enough detail of what not to do!
Being home has been very relaxing and casual so I’m a little too excited for a celebratory holiday to come up!

Ok so I really thought I was being creative last year with the girls Easter baskets and giving them more "essential" items instead of candy. Well I will not make that mistake this year LOL! I mean maybe only a few tampons this time :).
With everything that is going on right now, I'm really looking forward to this holiday probably more than ever. And it is Kate's birthday too so we will be doing a lot of celebrating even if it is only the five of us.
I'm definitely going to miss going to church as this is truly one of the most significant pieces of our faith. But we will be watching it online and celebrating nonetheless. If you would like to check it out, you can click this link (willowcreek.tv) for all of our services and lots of other helpful information.
Ok let's get back to all of the Easter basket goodies. Now with Easter a little over a week away, we wanted to make sure you could get these items FAST! Most of the items we found have free two day shipping, so let's hop to it LOL!
There are so many fun games out there right now and I love this book on how to draw cute stuff - I might grab that one for myself as I cannot draw at all!!!!!! And we will not be going to a nail salon anytime soon so if you have girls, these stick on nails are supposed to be really good!
Need a brain game? This one is perfect for kids and adults! And Telestrations is our favorite game to play with Papa! And since we are staying inside a lot, these are the number one slippers on Amazon - so cozy!
I can't believe another week has gone by and this is turning into our new normal right now. But we will keep having hope and keep finding the joy in all the little things. Sending lots of love your way! Stay safe and healthy friends!!! xo
